New training center: 11 million Euros invested

The Plansee Group invested 11 million euros in a new training centre. Now it was officially opened - with a nine month “delay” due to the coronavirus pandemic - in the presence of Tyrol’s Governor, Günther Platter. The new building in Reutte makes room to train up to 240 trainees in six technical trade professions.

“With more space, modern machinery and equipment, and new technologies, we create the foundations to also be able to offer our trainees top-level professional training in the future”, said Karlheinz Wex, Plansee Group Chair. The company trains uniquely for its own needs. Following successful training completion, the young trade workers are offered permanent employment contracts.

In the new training center, there are 2,700 square meters of space available for practical training. The machinery and equipment is separated according to the

training focus areas: manual work, turning, milling, grinding and CNC-controlled machines. Additionally, the Plansee Group invested in new equipment for 3-D printing and grinding. The CNC machines are equipped with the newest software for computer-aided manufacturing processes (CAM technologies).

At the same time, the company invests heavily in its own vocational schools. New classrooms and IT rooms as well as laboratories for hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical engineering will accommodate the growing number of students. The students of the new HTL for industrial engineering with a focus on business informatics in Reutte also use this infrastructure. They benefit in that Plansee, as the HTL cooperation partner, takes over the entire practical training.

Currently, Plansee and Ceratizit offer the following trade professions at the Reutte location:

Metal technology with the main modules machining and mechanical engineering technology, process technology, materials technology, electrical engineering, laboratory technology. The company also offers training positions in these job profiles for the 2021/22 training year and looks forward to hearing from committed and enthusiastic applicants.
